An independent Nominations Council, comprising distinguished international film industry experts, will shortlist up to five nominees in each award for consideration by the APSA Jury. The Nominations Council of the 2010 Asia Pacific Screen Awards will gather in Brisbane, Australia in September to deliberate on films and reach nominees in nine of twelve award categories. To view the full details on the 2010 APSA Nominations Council, click here.

Preparatory work will be performed by the APSA Advisory Committee to the Nominations Council who will assist the Nominations Council in reviewing eligible films. The Advisory Committee for 2010 are film critic and historian, Adrienne Mc Kibbins (Chair); producer/writer/director Faramarz K-Rahber; and film writer, cinephile and former festival director, Geoff Gardner.

Winners are determined by the International Jury of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards who will assemble on Australia’s Gold Coast on November 22 to commence deliberations. The highly credentialed Jury, headed by a president of international distinction, will determine winners in each award category. Past Jury presidents include Academy Award nominated Australian director, Bruce Beresford (2008) and Indian actress, humanitarian and former member of Indian parliament, Shabana Azmi (2007).

This year, Lord David Puttnam, Academy-Award winner and producer of Chariots of Fire, The Mission and The Killing Fields, will head the 2010 International Jury. The other members of the jury will be announced in coming months.

The full and complete APSA judging process can be found in the 2010 Charter Rules and Regulations - Section 20: Selection of Nominees.
