THE JURY

CONDITIONS OF ELIGIBILITY

FIRST PUBLIC SCREENING (WORLD PREMIERE)

Eligible films must have their first public screening (World Premiere) after August 1, 2009 and before October 31, 2010 (cast/crew screenings excluded).


ELIGIBLE PUBLIC SCREENING VENUES

At any stage during / after its release / premiere, the film must screen at least one of the venues listed below:
• Cinema/Theatre (anywhere in the world)
• FIAPF Accredited Film Festival screening
• National film festival screening from the Asia-Pacific region
• Broadcast on free to air, cable or satellite television (Documentaries only)
(Entries that have not screened at one or more of the venues listed above by October 31, 2010, will not be eligible to participate in the 2010 Asia Pacific Screen Awards.)


EVIDENTIARY MATERIALS

Please provide by the postmarked submission deadline August 23, 2010 details of:  a) first public screening (world premiere) and b) participation at one or more of the eligible screening venues listed above. Please provide these examples as electronic attachments via the online Screen Credits Form and/or hard copies dispatched with the four (4) DVD PAL/NTSC copies of your film.

Examples of evidentiary materials (photocopy / scans accepted):

• Letter of agreement with distributor/exhibitor
• Cinema advertisement/schedule
• Letter of invitation from a FIAPF Accredited / national film festival from the Asia-Pacific region
• Copy of film festival program/catalogue notes
• Contract for TV broadcast (Documentary Feature Films only)
• Copy of TV program schedule highlighting the film’s screening (Documentary Feature Films only)


CULTURE & NATIONALITY

• Films submitted or invited for consideration in the 2010 Asia Pacific Screen Awards must be predominantly created in and must reflect the culture of a country or countries from the Asia-Pacific region in accordance with Section 6 of the Charter Rules and Regulations. Films submitted by Official Submitting Organisations must reflect the culture of the nominating country.
• The majority of cast/crew must have been born in the Asia-Pacific region; hold a current passport from a country in the region; or normally reside in the region. (A point scoring system is outlined in The Test in Section 6 of the Charter Rules and Regulations which pertains to this criteria)
• AT LEAST ONE Producer or Co-Producer must be from the Asia-Pacific region for the film to be eligible for the Best Feature Film, Best Children’s Feature Film, Best Documentary Feature Film and Best Animated Feature Film categories.


RUNNING TIME / DURATION

• Feature Films must be 60 minutes+ in duration.
• Children’s Feature Films must be 60 minutes+ in duration.
• Documentary Feature Films must be 40 minutes+ in duration.
• Animated Feature Films must be 40 minutes+ in duration.


ORIGINAL FILM LANGUAGE / SUBTITLES

• All films must be presented in their original language.
• Original dialogue must be recorded in a language from the Asia-Pacific region.
• Dubbed performances will not be eligible for the Best Performance by an Actor/Actress categories.
• English subtitles are required for all entries not in the English language. All subtitling expenses are to be met by the film’s producer(s).


WORKS IN PROGRESS

Working titles will not be accepted. Eligible films must be identical in form with the final version intended for general release.
