Jack-Thompson-Academy

Building on the aim to further the common interests of Asia-Pacific filmmakers on the behalf of FIAPF—International Federation of Film Producers Associations, APSA winners, nominees and esteemed international judging panels are inducted into The Academy of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards.

This step in encouraging dialogue, collaboration and business opportunities for the region’s filmmakers is designed to provide a platform for relationships to continue and to encourage opportunities for co-productions and other initiatives to develop between the 70 countries and areas that form the APSA network.

One of the significant aims of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards is to promote the films and filmmakers of the Asia-Pacific region to a global market and to develop new markets for their work. More than 250 members from the 2007 to 2009 APSA's have now been inducted into The Academy, establishing a world-class body of Asia-Pacific filmmakers.  In time to come, Academy members will have a voting influence on the Awards.
